The Power of Small Wins ✨
And how they can be transformative

On International Women’s Day, I had the incredible opportunity to be one of 20 women speaking at the first annual S.H.E. Talks at The Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA. With a packed house, the place was buzzing 💕
I had the chance to pay forward what I had learned early on in my career - the power of small wins…

The Power of Small Wins
Alright, I want to start with asking you all to think about a big accomplishment.
Something you’re super proud of! Maybe a new job, big promotion, starting your own business.
Now that you are thinking about that, I want to share with you a personal story.
Almost 20 years ago now, I had the amazing opportunity to attend The Weather Channel’s Emerging Sales Leaders Program (ESLP). It was a year long program that had folks from all over Landmark Communication’s media properties all over the U.S.
The Win Book
Our first session was at The Weather Channel headquarters in Atlanta. And, on each of our desks, there was a little black book. Curious, I picked it right up and on the front it simply said “Win Book”.
And inside, a quote from Landmark executives encouraging us to capture our wins - big and small.
The Science Behind Small Wins
Our trainer shared with us the research behind the power of writing down your wins, your small wins.
You see, the science behind it is that when you recognize - and celebrate - your small wins, consistently, you gain motivation. Confidence. Momentum.
Over time, these seemingly tiny, small wins, and daily progressions add up to big wins. Like the ones you were thinking about earlier!
Capture Your Small Wins
So, now I ask each of you to think about a small win.
It could be as simple as going for a walk this morning, learning something new, or perhaps making a new connection.
I encourage each of you to reflect on your small wins. Everyday.
And soon, you’ll feel it! Because the power of small wins is transformational 🙌
I provided the attendees with their own win books. Please simply reply to this email and I will gladly get you a win book!
